Welcome to the Mike Garlick Burnley Football Club blog. Brighton & Hove Albion fought out a dull 0-0 draw with Burnley in the Premier League on Friday and the stalemate did neither side any favours in their attempts to ease relegation worries after a lackluster clash at the Amex stadium.

Before half-time Pope made an excellent save to deny Welbeck, making his first Seagulls start, while the striker then smashed a shot straight at the Burnley goalkeeper after the break. Neal Maupay twice went close for the hosts, with James Tarkowski pulling off a superb block to deny him the second time, but neither side could find a way to break the deadlock.

The result left Brighton 16th in the table on six points from eight games while Burnley, yet to win a league match this season, moved off the bottom to 19th on two points from seven.
