 ODOBERT ANNOUNCEMENT: JOININ THE CLARETS

Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the arrival of France U20 international Wilson Odobert from Troyes for an undisclosed fee. The 18-year-old forward has signed a five-year deal at Turf Moor and joins as the ninth new summer signing. The 18-year-old joins from French side Troyes, who were relegated from Ligue 1 last season.

After becoming a Claret, Odobert said: “The project here excited me, I really liked it. The manager, the team, the town. I really love it and it’s a really good project for me.

Wilson Odobert (born 28 November 2004) is a French professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Burnley fc. Commenting on the move, the new Burnley Football Club player said: “I want to play as much as possible at Burnley. Do as well as I can with the team, stay in the team and play the best I possibly can for the Club.”

Born in Meaux, Odobert joined Paris Saint Germain’s academy in 2017 and progressed through the academy ranks before rejecting a professional deal with the Club last year and opting to join Troyes to play first team football.

The winger made 32 appearances in Ligue 1 for Troyes last season and scored four goals as the teenager impressed during his first campaign South East of Paris. Odobert has represented France from U16 to U20 level, being capped three times for the latter and scoring once.

The teenager added: "I like to play attacking football, to dribble with the ball and use my pace. I am ready for the Premier League now; it's going to be amazing."
